Hehe. I think sometimes you just have to try different things and see if the needle moves as you say. Sometimes you get some traction and sometimes you see what works. I suppose any effort is great, though. If you enjoy the work, you're bound to gain momentum. Cool post.
Keep us updated at least every month or so. I'd be most interested to see if any of the other Social Media platforms drive meaningful audiences to Substack.
Ok sounds good I will dona quick update monthly, again. Think of it more like a hiw-to-ducknat social media and what the benefits of still doing it is 😅
This is a great reminder that platforms have different strengths. The interesting question I’m starting to explore is whether or not people subscribe because of where they discovered you… or because of the conversations they had with you before they ever clicked “Subscribe.”
I have a feeling that genuine conversation and engagement may be one of the most overlooked distribution channels for writers.
That's probably a good idea. I really dislike regular social media so my use if it is probably not very good. I think I'm in what I'd call an aggressive expansion campaign across all those accounts. I'll give it a month or so then I'll go back and trim down my lists to cut out the bitbaccounts etc. then I'll maybe spend more time on it, maybe dedicate an hour or two day across them all. But really I'd rather be writing and interacting in Substack 😀
I took the dive into insta this week and I'm very happy to see you write about this.
Also, numbers are all a matter of perspective. Your small is another person's big deal! :)
I started on here in March and almost have 200 folks who singed up for me to email them. I'm totally stoked by that. I was sure it would be December 2026 before I would even have 100 people sign on.
Yeah that's funny I just saw your note mentioning you started Instagram. Great minds! I honestly can't believe anyone subscribes to have Substack send them my emails. I still find it a very strange concept. I still have more of a traditional website mindset. But I chose Substack as it has a better built in discovery system that we don't really need other social media. But it looks like it helps if you do still use it as a bonus later. I'm glad the info was useful 😀

Interesting! Have not played around with social media at all for my substack. Maybe time to do so?
I like that the European gang is helping you. Europeans strong together. 🙃
Your results are good. If someone follows
Me I check them out and usually leave a comment.

You're doing great compared to me! Keep going!!!
