At A Distance
A short poem about my cat.
Why?
Why do you ignore me?
What did I do?
I’m right here, and all I want is for you to love me. To hold me.
But there you sit, back turned, lost in your own world. Again.
Fingers clickety-clacking over that keyboard.
That awful keyboard you so often choose over me.
Why?
Why can’t you give me even half the time you give to it?
Why can’t you see how much hurt your indifference causes?
I didn’t choose to be your pet. I still have no choice.
So now what I want, what I need, is for you to choose me, at least one more time.

About Liminal Space Creative
Independent creator attempting to spill the messy worlds in my head onto the page. At present, I am attending online design school as part of a very unexpected and unplanned career change. This space is where I will share random pieces of the journey: inspiration, experiments, school projects, and lessons I learn along the way.

Mine likes to chase the mouse cursor and chew on cables 😂
That’s when they hop up and walk on the keyboard
